MISSION The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible, and its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination. HOLIDAY NEEDS The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program helps bring Christmas joy to chil- dren ages 12 and under from families facing financial hardships. Last year, 497 local children received more than 5,000 gifts. Community members can adopt an Angel from participating retail locations or directly through The Salvation Army, purchasing new clothing and toys to fulfill their Christ- mas wishes. Volunteers are also needed for gift distribution on December 16th and 17th. Deadline to deliver Angel Tree gifts is December 11th. HOW YOUR GIFT HELPS Donations to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign provide essential funding for year-round ministry and social services, helping individuals and families in need throughout the community. Volunteers can also make a difference by ringing bells at local Red Kettle locations, spreading Christ- mas cheer while raising funds to support their neighbors. Individuals and groups can sign up to volunteer at volunteer.southern.salvationarmyusa.org. Deadline for bell ringing is December 23rd.
