The Washington Street Community Warming Center provides a safe, temporary overnight shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness during the winter season. HOLIDAY NEEDS The Washington Street Warming Center hopes to bring warmth and holiday cheer to approximately 30 guests through donated Christmas gifts and a holiday meal. Additional needs include men’s and women’s underwear, socks, sweatpants, and undershirts in various sizes, along with dark-colored twin fitted sheets, paper products, laundry supplies, and cleaning essentials such as bleach, disinfectant sprays, and wipes. Volunteers are essential to keeping the center operating from November 1 through March 31 on nights when the WPSD Local 6 weather team fore- casts overnight temperatures below 40 degrees.
