Once the pecan trees became productive, they added a building, affectionately called their “Nut House”, where she processes pecans for sale. “In addition to the farm, I worked at USEC for nearly 40 years and spent much of that time in the security department as a guard, and in the fire department as a firefighter/EMT. I am also a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces,” said Clayton. The event center, Occasions at Bluebird Hill Farm, is nearly 2,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor space, with five large doors that open so guests can enjoy the outside, where there is an additional 1,000 square feet of space. The parking lot and restrooms are ADA compliant. WELL SUITED FOR WEDDINGS, anniversaries, birthdays, celebrations, and corporate events, such as off-site meetings, workshops, and conferences, Occasions at Bluebird Hill Farm is an event center and venue located in a tranquil, rural setting. Clayton describes herself as a country girl who loves the land. “This farm is my little piece of heaven,” said Judy Clayton, owner. “This is the realization of a retirement dream.” It is a working farm on twelve acres with 150 pecan trees, a two-acre lake, a screened gazebo, vegetable and fruit gardens, and several buildings including the event center. The spacious grounds are home to many birds and other wildlife, including deer.
