This journey taught McHaney that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about continuing to move forward with purpose, even when the path is uncertain. “I am motivated to keep pushing forward through struggles by every family that says, ‘I wish this had existed sooner.’ It reminds me why I started. That keeps me moving,” said McHaney. “I’m proud that I turned a personal challenge into something that has the potential to help countless other families. If Superhero Summit makes even one family’s journey a little easier, it’s worth every obstacle.” McHaney hopes people understand that autism isn’t something to fear – it’s something to understand. The initiative encourages businesses to better support neurodiverse individuals and their families by bringing greater understanding and inclusion. As more businesses join the effort, McHaney hopes to build a stronger network of welcoming spaces for all families. Nurture and Grow Childcare Center in Paducah was actually the first organization to complete the certification!
