Nick Bloodworth’s first year with the Marshals started off pretty well, tying their number of wins (3) from the 2023 season in their first six games. Unfortunately for the Marshals, they dropped the final four games of the regular season and failed to make the Class 5A postseason. But even with the missed playoff berth, there was improvement in numbers on both sides of the football and reasons to be optimistic in Marshall County. Senior quarterback Neyland Jezik has really high hopes in his final season. “We have a young team this year,” Jezik said. “We’re bringing some basketball players out to play football this year, including Caden Mohler. We’re deep at receiver, the defensive line is strong, the secondary with Cason Holland looks great, and Cam Brown at tight end is big.” Jezik also pointed out that his team is focused on its goals. “Winning is fun, and we’re looking to have fun.
