To embark on this transformative journey, certain criteria must be met. A valid form of identification, be it a driver’s license, birth certificate, Social Security card, or insurance card, is a prerequisite. Legal standing is imperative - participants must have no active warrants, ensuring a clean slate before embarking on the program. A commitment to a drug- free life is essential, and if a drug screen indicates otherwise, attendance in an outpatient intensive rehabilitation program becomes mandatory. The ability to work, either full-time or part-time, is also a prerequisite, highlighting the importance of financial independence. Enrollees must commit to attending all classes and adhering to the rules outlined in the program handbook. The symbolism of the butterfly as the ministry logo holds profound meaning. This journey is defined by stages - initiation, transformation, metamorphosis, and maturity - each offering a unique facet in the process of reclaiming one’s life. “Since we’ve opened our program in 2023, we have had seven graduates,” said Jody O’Neill, Executive Director of A New Beginning for Women and Children. The initial stage marks the beginning of the journey, where women summon the courage to take that crucial first step.
