immediate family that I couldn’t imagine life without. We’ve eaten lunch together every Sunday after church at my Nana’s house for as long as I can remember. My aunts and uncles took me on vacations like one of their kids. I’ve watched my little cousins grow from babies into people I’m really proud of, an incredibly talented brother that always had my back, and I had the best parents I could have ever asked for. I always envisioned my future would involve coming back home to the people and place I love after college at MSU, and I’m so thankful that was able to happen! Mason: I have lived here my entire life. I grew up in Ballard County, attended Murray State University, and Aimee and I both agreed this was a great place to raise a family. What is your favorite holiday? CHRISTMAS! As a Christian, Christmas is monumental to my faith as the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior, but I also love basically everything associated with Christmas: the music, the food, the family time, decorating a tree, wrapping presents, Christmas music, Christmas lights, all the Christmas movies, shopping for gifts, snow, and the overall joyful feeling that comes with the season. What is your favorite thing about the region? Aimee: Whew - I’m not sure it gets much better than Paducah. Our region has some of the neatest small businesses, festivals, events, and an overwhelming sense of community and love for each other. Family is such a big thing for me, and Paducah feels like a family. This community loves on each other, comes to each other’s aid, can team up for a cause in one second flat, provides a great place to raise a family, and has some of the best people in the world. Paducah is a very special and unique place. Mason: I love the people. Paducah is a great place to live. I love how kind and caring the people are. There are so many community outreach programs, volunteer efforts, and just giving back. How do you spend your summer breaks? Our kids are still little, so the concept of “summer break” hasn’t quite hit our home, but we sure love the season! We love to spend time at the lake, swimming, and going for walks as a family. Mason enjoys golfing, Aimee enjoys tennis, Riley loves helping farm with her “Derdy” and camping with her “Baba”, and Charlie can be found climbing on anything and everything at the park and doing daredevil type activities in the water (you all know - the second kiddo is just a different breed). What does your spouse do to make you feel special? Aimee: Mason is my biggest cheerleader. He is famous in my heart for telling me I can do anything, bragging on me when something goes well, and encouraging me when things don’t go like I’d like. Mason is truly the most kind-hearted, caring person 46 NOVEMBER 2022 | PROMOTING EVENTS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE | INTHEVUE.COM
