14 NOVEMBER 2025 | INTHEVUE.COM MARSHALL COUNTY EXCEPTIONAL CENTER HEARTFELT HOLIDAYS MAYFIELD ENRICHMENT CENTER INC. MISSION The Marshall County Exceptional Center (MCEC) is a day training facility dedicated to innovatively educating clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Western Kentucky, empowering them to live independently and engage meaningfully and equitably in their communities. HOLIDAY OPPORTUNITIES The Marshall County Exceptional Center (MCEC) hosts an annual Christmas party as part of its holiday programming, providing clients with a joyful and inclusive celebration. A highlight of the event is the distribution of gifts to clients—many of whom may not otherwise receive presents due to financial challenges or residential circumstances. The party also features music, decorations, and shared meals, creating a warm and memorable experience. Beyond the festivities, the event fosters a sense of belonging, dignity, and joy, promoting emotional well-being and strengthening community bonds for all participants. The party is open for volunteers wishing to plan interactive activities and is scheduled for 8am-4pm on Thursday, December 18th at MCEC. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Contributions received during this season directly support the Center’s open enrollment policy, ensuring that no eligible individual is turned away due to financial barriers. MCEC is the only agency of its kind in Kentucky that does not require government waiver reimbursement or private payment for services. This allows individuals ineligible for a Medicaid waiver or placed on long waiting lists to attend the Center free of charge, meeting urgent community needs without delay. Referrals come in weekly, often for individuals and families who have exhausted all other options. Thanks to donor support, the Center can provide essential care, programming, and support that would otherwise be inaccessible, affirming the dignity and worth of every person served. MISSION Bridging Community Gaps, So All Can Thrive. The organization’s mission is to serve low-income, BIPOC, elderly, and underserved populations in Western Kentucky. By bridging gaps in resources and opportunity, it seeks to enrich, empower, and equip individuals to become productive and engaged members of the community. HOLIDAY OPPORTUNITIES During the holiday season, the Mayfield Enrichment Center hosts its year-end banquet, “Change the Narrative.” The event is free to attendees and honors community heroes—individuals and organizations making a difference by changing the narrative in their community. The banquet is held on the Saturday closest to the anniversary of the 2021 tornado that destroyed much of Mayfield. Last year, the event recognized marginalized past and present police, fire, and city workers. This year, the banquet will honor youth who are making a positive impact and changing the narrative in their community. If you would like to help set up or break down for this year’s event being held December 13th, please email crystal.fox@mayfieldenrichment. org. Donations are accepted until 12/12/25. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES The Mayfield Enrichment Center works to ensure that underserved families in the community have the support they need during the holiday season. The organization matches families with sponsors who provide gifts, clothing, and food for children, helping to brighten the holidays for those who might otherwise go without. In addition, the Center provides meals and essential food supplies to students over the Christmas break, ensuring that children continue to have access to nutritious food even when school is not in session. Through these initiatives, the Mayfield Enrichment Center helps foster a sense of care, hope, and community for families in need. paypal www.paypal.com/ncp/pay- ment/7C2SQZNSNHG44 contact 270-527-1327 198 Old Symsonia Road, P.O.
