INTHEVUE.COM | NOVEMBER 2025 15 MISSION To feed the hungry, assist with basic needs, and provide a bridge to wellness and financial security through education, counseling, and advocacy for the citizens of Calloway County. HOLIDAY OPPORTUNITIES During the holidays, MCC Need Line continues supporting participants with rent, utilities, food, and other essential programs, while sharing information about holiday events in Murray and Calloway County. For Thanksgiving, extra items are added to pantry bags so families can prepare a holiday meal, along with details about the community Thanksgiving lunch. For Christmas, Need Line provides 600 Christmas Food Boxes containing a traditional holiday meal, including meat, eggs, butter, cake and frosting, vegetables and fruit, candy canes, stuffing mix, and other foods. Each box also includes a blanket to help keep families warm during the winter. Churches, organizations, schools, and individuals contribute money, food, and volunteer support to pack and distribute the boxes. Volunteers assist with loading the boxes into vehicles, and Santa often greets participants with a smile and candy for children of all ages. Donors and volunteers make it possible for MCC Need Line to provide families in need with meals, homeless prevention support, cleaning and hygiene items, fans and blankets, children’s backpack programs, and more. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES End-of-year giving helps MCC Need Line fulfill its mission throughout the remainder of the year and prepares the organization to continue serving the community in the year ahead.
