EVENT RE-VUE JDRF ONE WALK TO CURE DIABETES Photos Taken By Allyson Meadows Darlene Lee, Samantha Lee, Carol Wiggens, Adyen Green, Zabyn Wiggins Nearly 1000 people gathered to participate in the 9th Danny Dendon, Maggie Hendon, Missy White, Kelvin White annual JDRF One Walk™ to Cure Diabetes. The JDRF and One Walk organizers are grateful to our volunteers, corporate sponsors, Walk teams, and the City of Paducah. This event successfully raised nearly $72,000, and donations will continue to be accepted. “Families came together to connect and learn from each other. It is incredibly overwhelming for newly diagnosed families, so one thing we want to accomplish with the Walk is getting everyone together to bond and share diabetes life hacks and concerns,” states One Walk organizer Carrie Gottschalk Singler. JDRF’s mission is to fund life-changing research to cure, prevent, and treat Type 1 diabetes and its complications. JDRF commits to using donations responsibly, and invests approximately 80 cents of every dollar in their mission.
