faster,” said Hunt. “It also has greatly decreased the amount of ‘goopy’ impressions we have to take which is something that patients greatly appreciate.” Broadway Dental Care also now has a CT scan. Along with diagnostic purposes, it also allows Dr. Shelton to place implants. Along with technical advancements continuing to better the practice, the team itself is dedicated to always creating a positive and comfortable experience. “Our team from top to bottom does an amazing job at listening to the patient and making sure that they feel like their needs are being heard, whether they’re answering the phone or one of the hygienists cleaning a patient’s teeth,” said Hunt. A very personable group of people, who do their best to make sure it feels like an individualized experience for everyone that walks in the Broadway Dental Care door. “If someone needs to get in to see us - a broken tooth, a toothache, or some other issue, we try to work them into our schedule as quickly as possible. Dr. Sheldon and I think in the healthcare field, and in general, you treat others the way you want to be treated,” said Hunt. “Most people don’t like going to the doctor, especially the dentist, so showing compassion and empathy to people has always been something that we have strived for. Getting to know your patients on a personal level is also something we have found to build good relationships, making sure people don’t feel like they are just a chart number, incredibly important to us.” Broadway Dental Care is also invested in the community around them. “I did Dancing with Our Stars when I first started practicing,” said Hunt. “We have sponsored many high school athletic programs and golf charity scrambles, as well as assisted many of our patients’ charitable efforts by giving them toothbrushes for mission trips and care bags for the holidays.” Being handed the keys to one of the best dental practices in the area and achieving significant growth is one of Hunt‘s proudest achievements. “When we first joined the practice in 2014, it was a healthy and thriving practice. Back then, if you would’ve told us that we would own the practice and just maintain that level that we had in 2014, we would have been thrilled,” said Hunt. “The fact that we have been able to grow it into what it is today is sometimes hard to believe. But the Slaughters did the hard part 40 years ago in starting the practice and getting it off the ground. We just had to follow the blueprint.” For the future years, Hunt sees growth. “We have room to have two more treatment rooms, so from a physical standpoint, I want us to completely fill out the building,” said Hunt. But most importantly? He wants people to view Broadway Dental Care the same way in the future as they did when the Slaughters owned it. A trustworthy and friendly dental office that has their patients’ best interests at heart. “In other words, as much as things have changed, I want them to stay the same,” said Hunt.
