Paducah Young Professionals Member, American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink Western Kentucky Representative, Dancing With Our Stars Paducah Volunteer Michael Ray Mix, Jr. has built a distinguished career in the automotive industry, earning recognition for both performance and leadership. Over the years, he has received the General Motors Mark of Excellence Award five times, an honor that recognizes dealerships achieving top-tier sales and customer satisfaction. Michael has also completed the Brown and Brown Dealer Services F&I Compliance Certification Training, further demonstrating his commitment to professional development and industry standards. After several years as a Sales Professional at Linwood Chevrolet in Mayfield, KY, he accepted a Sales Manager role at Coad Toyota in Paducah in 2022, marking a major career transition. One of the biggest challenges Michael faced came when moving into management at a new dealership after more than seven years as a Sales Professional. The shift required him to quickly learn a new brand, lead a team he hadn’t yet built relationships with, and take responsibility for department-wide results. Navigating new systems and earning the trust of his team was initially difficult, but Michael leaned into the challenge with focus, curiosity, and mentorship from seasoned leaders. He relied on the skills he had honed over the years—relationship building, sales acumen, and customer service—to gain confidence in his new role. The result has been measurable growth for his team and a rewarding experience as both a leader and professional. At just 27 years old, Michael brought a fresh perspective to a field often dominated by seasoned leaders. His energy, adaptability, and understanding of both the customer experience and team dynamics have set him apart. This combination allows him to lead effectively while driving results and mentoring others. Michael draws inspiration from his wife’s grandfather, Kevin Quinn, whose integrity, work ethic, and generational impact left a lasting impression. Kevin’s example motivates Michael to build a meaningful career while leaving behind values and lessons for future generations. Michael hopes his legacy is one of integrity, mentorship, and positive impact. He wants to be remembered for building relationships, uplifting others, and creating opportunities for growth. To young professionals striving for success, he advises: even when others don’t see your potential, trust yourself. Growth develops from within, and showing up with dedication and heart can shape both your career and the lives of those around you.
