The Charity League of Paducah Board Member & Historian/ PR, Paducah Professional Women Member Jennifer Burnett has spent the past six years transforming a newly created position into a cornerstone ministry role at Lone Oak. What began as simply producing a weekly bulletin has evolved into a strategic bridge between the church and the broader community. Under her leadership, communication has expanded across digital, print, and in-person platforms, enabling the church to connect with more people, more effectively. Through intentional outreach and teamwork, Lone Oak has seen not only measurable growth in attendance, but also countless stories of lives changed, individuals coming to Christ, and a congregation that is more connected, informed, and mission-driven. In January 2021, Burnett’s professional life intertwined with a personal battle when she faced kidney failure. She began hemodialysis—four hours a day, three days a week—while continuing to work full-time. Later, she transitioned to nightly at-home peritoneal dialysis for 10 hours, balancing part-time hours with full-time responsibilities for more than three years. This season tested and refined her resilience, deepening her compassion and expanding her perspective on the unseen struggles others may face. On July 2, 2024, she received a kidney transplant—a turning point that brought renewed passion to her work and a greater commitment to leading with empathy and purpose. She approaches communication not simply as design or marketing, but as ministry, prioritizing people and connection over aesthetics and metrics. For her, branding and messaging are tools to point others toward hope, truth, and community. Burnett credits her success to the unwavering support of her family, friends, coworkers, and community. Their encouragement has shaped her leadership style, grounded in grace, authenticity, and showing up for others. She hopes her legacy inspires others to persevere through challenges—to “do it scared, do it tired, and do it when you’re unsure,” trusting that obedience and passion are worth the effort. Her advice is simple but powerful: don’t wait for the perfect moment. Growth comes when you show up anyway. Stay rooted in your “why,” surround yourself with people who lift you up, and remember that even the hardest parts of your story can become someone else’s hope. Jennifer Burnett Communications Director, Lone Oak First Baptist Church Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce Member Jenny Chapman Bowen has built a career rooted in revitalization, community connection, and a deep commitment to family. As the manager of her family- run business, Chapman Property Development, she oversees 150 rental units—both residential and commercial—handling everything from daily operations to leasing. Alongside that, she has grown her entrepreneurial venture, transforming a single snow cone booth into three thriving locations. Her dedication to her work has never wavered, even through major life changes. In March, Bowen welcomed her daughter, Hallie, and now brings her to work each day. For Bowen, blending motherhood with business ownership has added new meaning and joy to her family’s legacy. Her professional journey began right out of college with a project that was both personal and ambitious: managing the complete renovation of a condemned 1917 duplex that she and her husband would later call home. The property had once housed her grandparents in the 1960s, making the restoration especially meaningful. While much of the structure had to be taken down to the studs, Bowen preserved the original fireplace and staircase as a nod to its history. Over the years, Bowen has overseen numerous redevelopment projects, with more than half involving the restoration of historic structures in her community. Notable examples include the Ritz Hotel and the City National Bank building, now home to Jeremiah’s. She sees these projects as more than construction— they are opportunities to breathe life back into spaces that hold a community’s history. In her role as property manager, Bowen also prioritizes creating a sense of home for her tenants. She hosts community events throughout the year, aiming to make people feel welcome and connected. She credits much of her drive to her father, who she describes as the smartest person she knows. His advice to “go after what you want” has shaped her approach to both business and life. Bowen hopes her legacy will be simple yet impactful: to leave things better than she found them. Her advice to young professionals reflects the same passion she brings to her own work—chase what excites you, because when you love what you do, it never truly feels like work.
